摘要 A geomagnetic sensor and an azimuth computation method thereof are provided to compute an accurate azimuth by calculating pitch and roll angles first with using an X-axis and Y-axis acceleration sensor and performing a secondary calculation for readjusting a pitch and roll angles with using a Z-axis acceleration sensor output value. In a geomagnetic sensor(100), a terrestrial magnetism measurement module(110) includes an X, Y, and Z-axis flux gates, crossing one another. A tilt measurement module(120) includes an X, Y, and Z-axis acceleration sensors, crossing one another. A tilt calculation unit(130) calculates a pitch and roll angles first by using output values of the X and Y-axis acceleration sensors and performs a process for readjusting at least one of the first calculated pitch and roll angles by using the Z-axis acceleration sensor. A control unit(140) computes an azimuth by using the readjusted pitch and roll angles and the output value of the terrestrial magnetism measurement module.
