A telephone number registration device of a mobile communication terminal and a method thereof are provided to enable a user to input a name after inputting information about a group and a type together with a telephone number when the telephone number is inputted, thus the user can quickly register the telephone number. A key input unit(204) has a telephone number registration key for registering a telephone number. A memory(206) stores a telephone number table. When the telephone number registration key is inputted as the telephone number is inputted, a controller(200) confirms numbers in front of the first '0' from the inputted telephone number to decide that preset telephone number information is inputted according to the confirmed numbers, and when a name of the telephone number is inputted, the controller(200) matches the telephone number information with the name to control so that the matched information is stored in the telephone number table. |
