<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-efficiency noble metal catalyst having a nanometer-sized network structure having a large specific surface area. <P>SOLUTION: This single-layered or multilayered compact structure is formed by auto-agglomerating nanometer-sized spherical bodies of an organic polymer (for example, polystyrene (PS)) or an inorganic substance (for example, silicon dioxide SiO<SB>2</SB>). The high-efficiency catalyst is formed in the spaces of the compact structure by vacuum-sputtering a catalytic metal or filling the spaces of the compact structure with an aqueous solution of an ionized catalytic metal and reducing the filled catalytic metal chemically. In the concrete, the high-efficiency catalyst having the nanometer-sized network structure is formed by auto-agglomerating nanometer-sized spherical bodies of the organic polymer such as polystyrene or the inorganic substance such as silicon dioxide in high density in a solution to form a lamellarly accumulated structure, volatilizing the solution, accumulating the noble metal catalyst such as platinum in the spaces of the lamellarly accumulated structure by sputtering the noble metal catalyst or impregnating the spaces with the aqueous solution of the noble metal catalyst and subjecting the impregnated noble metal catalyst to a reduction reaction, and removing the nanometer-sized spherical bodies by pyrolysis/vaporization or dissolution with hydrofluoric acid. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
