PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instrument and method for easily correcting an ingrown nail with neither requiring special knowledge, depending on a surgical operation nor allowing an individual to perform cleavage. SOLUTION: A correcting instrument Ka includes: a flat gap 35 formed at the distal end of upper and lower leg parts which form a U shape main body; the upper flat surface part 33a of the upper leg part 39; the lower flat surface part 33b of the lower leg part 40; buffering curved surfaces 32 for horizontal sliding arranged at the right and left ends of the lower flat surface part 33b; and a buffering structure 34 which is arranged in the connection part of the upper and lower leg parts, so as to allow horizontal sliding to be smoothly performed.
