An apparatus and a method for detecting the voltage of a battery pack are provided to accurately detect the voltage variation of each single battery irrespective of the change of a load current. Multiple capacitors(C1~Cn) are provided in pairs with single batteries(Ba1~Ban) of a battery pack. The battery pack is formed by connecting the single batteries in series. Multiple sampling switches(S21H~S2nH) are connected between one end of each capacitor and one end of the single battery, and between the other end of the capacitor and the other end of the single battery. A voltage detection control unit measures a voltage charged in each of the capacitors from the single battery through the sampling switch. Each of transfer switches is connected between one end of the capacitor and the voltage detection control unit. Each of reference electric potential setting switches is connected between the other end of the capacitor and a terminal of the ground potential.
