<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the system for exchanging data by noncontact communication between the terminal and the remotely powered portable object. <P>SOLUTION: A terminal (100) includes a coil (102), cooperating with data transmitter/receiver means (108 to 118). A portable object (200) includes a remotely-powered electric circuit, including a coil (202) for picking up modulated magnetic field from the terminal or for responding by producing modulated disturbance of the magnetic field; a converter means, including a rectifying stage (210) and a filter stage (212) for transforming the magnetic field picked up by the coil into a DC power supply voltage (a); and a data transmitter/receiver means.
