A call origination device using a short message and a method thereof are provided to enable a receiving user to easily connect with a particular telephone number or a URL(Uniform Resource Locator) included in the text of a short message, when an origination user sends the short message by including the particular telephone number or the URL in the message. An origination terminal(110) is capable of transmitting a short message, and sends the short message by including a telephone number or a URL distinguished by a predetermined identifier in the text of the short message. An SMSC(Short Message Service Center)(130) receives the short message from the terminal(110), and transmits the message to a receiving terminal(150). The receiving terminal(150) receives the message from the SMSC(130), is capable of recognizing the identifier included in the text of the message, and accesses the telephone number or the URL associated with the identifier.
