The method involves utilizing a bluetooth device name field of a host device, during the detection of the presence of a bluetooth device in a coverage zone of a host device, where the field is exchanged between the host device and the coverage zone of the host device. A message of the host device is inserted in the field, where the message comprises data addresses to a device that is situated in the coverage zone of the host device and is detected by the host device. The message comprises an indication of a code to be utilized for performing pairing/bonding processes. An independent claim is also included for a host device for implementing the functions of a bluetooth device detecting method.
