<p>This invention provides a method of treating a subject afflicted with severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), comprising administering to the subject an amount of an interferon polypeptide effective to reduce the concentration of SARS-associated coronavirus particles in the subject, thereby treating the subject. This invention also provides methods of treating a subject infected with certain viruses and methods of reducing a subject's risk of viral infection, comprising administering to the subject an interferon polypeptide. This invention further provides a method of treating a subject afflicted with influenza or reducing a subject's risk of influenza virus infection, comprising administering to the subject an interferon polypeptide.</p> |
