The invention relates to a child protection system for motor vehicles for arranging on a motor vehicle seat, comprising a back rest (2) which extends in the longitudinal direction of the back (L), a back support (21) of the seat back (2) which is to be arranged on the seat shell (1) in order to protect the rear torso of the child, a head rest component (22) of the back rest (2) which is displaceably mounted on the back support (21) in the longitudinal direction of the back (L) for the rear and/or lateral protection of the head of a child, a first adjusting mechanism (20) which is used to adjust the position of the head rest component (22) in relation to the back support (21) in the longitudinal direction of the back (L), two lateral shoulder support flanges (26, 27) which are arranged in a transversal manner in the longitudinal direction of the back (L) and at a distance from each other on the lateral support section (7a, 7b) of the head rest component (22), and a second adjusting mechanism (25) which is used to adjust the distance between both lateral shoulder support flanges (26, 27) in a transversal manner to the longitudinal direction of the back (L). According to the invention, a coupling mechanism (5), which couples together both of the adjusting mechanisms (20, 25), is provided such that during actuation, one adjusting mechanism (20) as well as the other adjusting mechanism (25) is triggered. |
