<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microcomputer capable of performing debugging without stopping a CPU for every rewrite of data or program, and a debug method therefor. <P>SOLUTION: The microcomputer in one embodiment of the present invention comprises a first memory area storing a first program, a second memory area storing a second program, a processor operating according to the first and second programs, and a debug processing circuit controlling a processor to prohibit the access to the first memory area and access to the second memory area during debug processing of the first program.
