A GUI(Graphic User Interface) picture providing method in a device link system based on a TV is provided to allow a user to more conveniently select, operate, and control desired functions and devices through a main GUI picture and a sub-GUI picture provided from a digital TV by confirming enable states of respective devices, outputting and displaying menu items of valid functions capable of being currently selected by the user through the main GUI picture, and outputting and displaying menu items of devices which provide specific functions selected through the main GUI picture through the sub-GUI picture in the digital TV. A TV(10) operated as a master device of a device link system confirms connection states of respective slave devices connected through a daisy chain type. The TV(10) displays menu items corresponding to valid functions capable of being selected by a user within a main GUI picture according to the confirmed result. The TV displays menu items of devices which provide specific functions selected through the main GUI picture within a sub-GUI picture.
