PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently secure both of required gas permeability and required mechanical strength (bending strength) in a filter for a sensor for a gas sensor. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method is provided with a first material production step Sa for mixing a ceramic powdery raw material with one or more additives to granulate into a granular body material Po having a prescribed particle size, a second material production step Sb for primarily forming the granular body material Po obtained in the first material preparation step Sa under prescribed primary pressure Ff and after that, primarily firing at a prescribed primary heating temperature Tf to obtain a green compact Pp having 0.1-1.0 mm size of particles k and a main forming step Sc for secondarily forming the green compact material Pp obtained in the second material preparation step Sb under prescribed secondary forming pressure Fs and after that, firing at a prescribed secondary heating temperature Ts to obtain the porous ceramic C.
