PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound for the production of medicines useful for elevating PDH activity of warm-blooded animals such as human. SOLUTION: The method for the production of the medicine uses a compound of formula (I), its salt, an in vivo cleavable pharmacologically acceptable prodrug of the compound or pharmacologically acceptable salt of the compound or the prodrug. In formula (I), the ring C is phenyl or a carbon-linked heteroaryl ring; R1is an ortho-substituent; n is 1 or 2; A-B is a linking group; R2and R3are each an alkyl or the like; and R4is hydroxy, hydrogen, halogen, amino or methyl.
