PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposable diaper which allows a care-giver to detect discharge of urine easily from the outside irrespective of postures in which a wearer urinates by correcting a defect that moisture permeability of a back sheet is impaired when transparency of the back sheet is raised in order to see the inside of the diaper easily. SOLUTION: The disposable diaper 1 comprises a liquid permeable top sheet 2, a moisture permeable and liquid impermeable back sheet 3, and an absorbing medium 4 arranged between the top and the back sheets and having a surface covered with a hydrophilic sheet. The back sheet 3 has, at least on a part of its crotch section, a visible area 7 having a total light transmittance of 40% or more as stipulated in JIS K7361-1. In addition, a color indicator 8 that changes color by reacting with urine is applied on the absorbing medium 4 side of the hydrophilic sheet. The absorbing medium 4 is characterized that the color indicator 8 is applied on the center and both sides of the hydrophilic sheet with respect to the width direction of the absorbing body 4.
