High throughput capillary electrophoresis system

A high throughput capillary electrophoresis (CE) system comprises multiple mobile CE detector modules (26) that are transportable by a programmable fluid-handling arm assembly (18) to fixed samples in microtiter plate (58,60) wells for analysis.
Each detector module (26) has a capilary (108) extending from an inlet end (108) to an outlet end (109). The detector modules comprise an upper housing (104) and a removable cartridge component (102) that can be removed when the capillary needs replacing. A first electrode (110) is provided at the inlet end and a second electrode (111) is provided at the outlet end of each detector module.
Each detector module includes a desired detector assembly such as a UV detector (100).
