A method for authenticating a network user using an authentication file stored in a mobile phone and a method for managing an authentication file in a mobile phone are provided to perform an authentication process without storing the authentication file in a hard disk of a PC or carrying a portable disk. A method for authenticating a network user using an authentication file stored in a mobile phone includes the steps of: outputting an input window inputting a number of the mobile phone to a computer of a user when an authentication program is driven at an authentication server(206); transmitting an SMS push character message as the number of the inputted mobile phone when the user inputs the number of the mobile number(230); transmitting a generated return key when the return key is generated(239); and performing authentication at the authentication server which receives the return key(244).
