<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controlling agent exhibiting controlling activity on insect pests of the suborder Brachycera. <P>SOLUTION: The controlling agent comprises 1-(2-chloro-5-thiazolyl)methyl-3-methyl-2-nitroguanidine and 5-[2-(2-butoxyethoxy)ethoxymethyl]-6-propyl-1,3-benzodioxole as active ingredients.
