<p>The present invention relates to a method and system for measuring an object, comprising a non-contact scanning means (NCSM) attached to the effector end of a robot, wherein the position and orientation of the NCSM is determined using a non-contact position and orientation detection means (NCPODM). The position and orientation of the NCSM is measured continuously by said NCPODM. By doing so the precise position of the NCSM is determined independently of the robot, so the error owing to inherent movement inaccuracies of industrial robots can be diminished.</p> |
