The present application relates to a user- friendly monitoring system with an improved measurement quality that is suitable for home use. A monitoring system for monitoring a physiological activity of a recipient is provided, the system comprising at least one dry electrode (1) having a working surface (5) that is to be brought into a contact with the recipient's skin, wherein the at least one electrode comprises a flexible conductive shell (2) that is to be integrated into a textile or a garment (6) and an electronic circuit (13) embedded in the shell. The invention is preferably used in the field of personal health care for continuous monitoring of electro -physiological parameters outside hospitals at maximum comfort.
