PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing for a screw rotor and the screw rotor, easily performing plastic working for even a high-strength pipe type material and improving productivity. SOLUTION: In this method of manufacturing for the hollow screw rotor 1 having a spiral tooth part 2, while applying force axially shortened (an arrow A in Fig. 2) to the pipe type material 5, the tooth part 2 is formed to the pipe type material 5 by being drawing-processed by using a screw-shaped die 6 arranged on the inner side of the pipe type material 5 and matched to the shape of the tooth part 2 and a forming tool 7 arranged on the outer side of the pipe type material 5 and forming the tooth part 2.
