ULTRAFINE MELT-ANISOTROPIC AROMATIC POLYESTER FIBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a melt-anisotropic aromatic polyester fiber having a good touch feeling by ultrafining to≤0.1 dtex single filament fineness and usable for protective clothes uses such as bullet-proof clothes, stab-proof clothes and icepick-proof clothes in a melt-anisotropic aromatic polyester fiber which is difficult to carry out an ultrafine treatment and has especially limitations on the clothes uses and high strength and high modulus of elasticity. SOLUTION: The melt-anisotropic aromatic polyester fiber having≥20 cN/dtex fiber strength after heat treatment is obtained as follows. A sea-island type conjugated filament yarn comprising a melt-anisotropic aromatic polyester as an island component and a readily alkali weight-reducing polyester as a sea component in (10:90) to (50:50) mass ratio of the sea:island of the sea component and the island component is subjected to an alkali weight-reduction treatment. The single filament fineness after the alkali weight-reduction treatment is 0.1-1.0 dtex. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
