A pressure regulator of an air bag capable of quickly controllably discharging a large amount of gas. A movable pin (20) is lowered to release a locked state, and a movable body (15) is rotatingly moved by the energizing forces of energizing means (27) until the pin-contact projection (37) of the movable body touches a raised movable pin (22) to stop the movable body (15). At the stopped position, a shutter is brought into a fully opened state where a receiving side discharge port (18) is aligned with a movable body side discharge port (32), and the gas in the air bag (8) is discharged to lower a pressure therein. After a specified time is elapsed, the movable pin (22) is lowered to release the locked state, the movable body (15) is rotatingly moved by the energizing forces of the energizing means (27) until the pin-contact projection (36) of the movable body touches a fixedly locking pin (26) to stop the movable body (15). Then, the shutter is brought into a fully closed state where the receiving side discharge port (18) and the movable body side discharge port (32) are brought into a non-aligned state with each other.
