PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with a special operation means for performing or stopping pump-down operation in order to make a printed board compact or reduce the cost by reducing the number of microcomputer ports or circuit parts to be used. SOLUTION: An outdoor unit includes a plurality of temperature detecting means 7, 8 and 9 and a control means 6. When the plurality of temperature detection means are unconnected, the control means 6 recognizes entering into a pump-down operation mode and starts the pump-down operation. When the plurality of temperature detection means are reconnected, the control means 6 starts pump-down operation by recognizing entering into a pump-down operation end mode and stops the pump-operation at any optional time.
