<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new phenol compound having high color developing sensitivity, holding stable color developing properties and decoloring properties and having excellent preservability when used as a developer of a reversible heat-sensitive recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: The phenol compound is represented by formula (1) (wherein, n represents an integer of 23-29). The reversible heat-sensitive recording medium using the compound as the developer has the good color developing sensitivity and color developing density and a rewritten record having excellent image preservability and high practicality can be obtained.
