PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide Sarcandra glabra this time germinated by natural crossing, having a bright pattern and aggregatedly bearing fruits (drupes) turning red when matured on leaves though the conventional Sarcandra glabra has mainly evergreen leaves but creamy spots are found, to therefore provide the Sarcandra glabra as a parent flowering tree and shrub, to collect the fruits and to try the growth whether or not the similar species are germinated. SOLUTION: The fruits (drupes) matured from the parent flowering tree and shrub are collected and the resultant fruits are directly sown into soil for raising seedlings. When the soil is dried, watering is carried out. Germination/growth are tried in a shade of a tree by avoiding sunlight. The germination is carried out by the method and the growth is good. The resultant flowering tree and shrub are confirmed as the same species as the parent flowering tree and shrub and called striped Sarcandra glabra Izumi. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
