The medium has a track (21) running spirally or concentrically for guiding beams of information recording and/or replaying device. The device has a region in which main data pits are formed. A number of pilot mark regions have pilot marks (20) that do not extend into the tracks and are arranged in sections alternatively on the respective opposite side of the track and at the same radial distance to the center of the track. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for manufacturing a recording medium (2) a device for information recording and/or replaying a recording medium (3) a method for reading auxiliary information during information recording and replaying a recording medium.
