PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil amount display device for a meter which has a longer life, eliminates the need of maintenance work, and allows constant fine visibility. SOLUTION: The display device 21 is composed of a matrix array of a plurality of light-emitting elements 43, which are high brightness LEDs. An external light sensor 22 is arranged near the display device 21 to detect the brightness of external light, and the emission intensity of the light-emitting elements 43 is changed according to detected brightness. The light-emitting elements 43 show a plurality of emission colors that are preset in accordance with the kinds of oil. The display device 21 is provided with a tilting means which tilts a display screen in response to operation of an angle adjustment operation unit 23, and a diffusion plate 44 for diffusing light in front of the light-emitting elements 43.
