An image processing device equipped with an image rotation function and an image rotating method thereof are provided to quickly rotate an image and perform other operations while performing the operation related to the image rotation. A memory(100) stores image data matched with one image. A reception DMA(Direct Memory Access) part(150) loads the image data in a block unit comprising the fixed number of pixel data by directly accessing the memory. An image rotating part(170) rotates the loaded image data by the block unit. A transmitting DMA part(190) directly accesses and stores the image data processed in the image rotating part to the memory. The image rotation part includes a reception buffer(171) temporarily storing the image data loaded from the memory by the block unit, a rotation processor(173) rotating an arrangement state of the image data according to the size of the pixel data from the block, and a transmitting buffer(175) temporarily storing the rotated image data.
