LOCATION-BASED SERVICE METHOD AND SYSTEM USING LOCATION DATA INCLUDED IN IMAGE DATA

A location-based service method and system using location data included in image data are provided to provide map information of a photographing site so that the user can obtain geographical location information about the photographing site. It is checked whether a camera photographing mode of a mobile terminal is in an ON state(S200). When the mobile terminal is set in the camera photographing mode, the current image of a site desired by a user is displayed on a display unit(S202). When the user inputs a photographing key, the current image is captured and a menu for asking whether to insert location data is displayed(S206). When the user selects insertion of location data, location data is inserted into the first captured image data to generate the second image data(S210). The second image data is compressed and stored(S212).
