An LCD device for preventing static electricity, and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to prevent substrate damage caused by an electrostatic impact during a process by minimizing an influence of the static electricity generated during a cell process through a static electricity preventing pattern. A plurality of cells are independently disposed on a first substrate(110). A gate line(121) and a data line(123) are arranged in the cell in first and second directions to define a plurality of pixels. A common line is formed along an outer edge of the cell. An Ag dot electrically connects the common line with a common electrode. A connection pad electrically connects the Ag dot and the common line. A static electricity preventing pattern(150) extends from the connection pad, connects common lines between the independent cells, and has a portion formed along an outer edge of the first substrate. A liquid crystal layer is formed between the first and second substrates. |
