<PICT:0835511/III/1> In a varnish-pouring machine having a circulation of varnish, the supply of varnish passes from a pump 3 through a regulating cock 19 and filter 6 to a pouring vessel 10, the quantity of varnish supplied to the vessel 10 being adjustable by a cock 18 in conduits 16, 17, which by-passes the filter 6 and lead from the pressure side of the pump 3 to its suction side, and means are provided to prevent the formation of froth. Such means comprise baffle-plates 25 in the pouring vessel 10, 26 in the collecting trough 15, and 27, 28 in the varnish tank 1. The varnish 12 flows through a nozzle 11 in the tank 10, on to a workpiece 13 which is conveyed beneath the nozzle by a belt 14, excess varnish being collected in the trough 15 and returned to the tank 1. Cocks 21, 24 are provided for draining and flushing the apparatus.
