PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treating method capable of reducing the amount of hexavalent chromium a fired material containing chromic oxide. SOLUTION: In the treating method of the fired material containing the chromic oxide, the fired material containing the chromic oxide obtained by firing a raw material containing chromium is washed with liquid. As the liquid, it is preferable to use water, an aqueous solution containing a reducing agent, alcohol or acetone. Additionally, it is preferable that the fired material contains an alkaline metal, and it is preferable that the hydraulic modulus (H.M.) of the fired material is 0.05-2.3.
