<p>A telescopic tube fitted witha sleeve connected to a vacuum pump is inserted between the optical lens and the workpiece of a laser beam working device for removal of vapours and particles arising from the laser acction, thus protecting the optics from becoming contaminated. In order to allow the operator to observe the work, the tube is made from a transparent material which however absorbs most of the potentially harmful light emitted by the process. When a CO2 laser is used a suitable material for this is Plexiglass (RTM).</p> |
