PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that, when it is set so as to be capable of corresponding to temperature characteristics or the like of a light-emitting element by storing characteristics of the light-emitting element in a memory inside an E/O converter, the problem regarding the variation in initial characteristics of the light-emitting element can not be solved, and consequently, adjustment and inspection of the E/O converter are required. SOLUTION: The light-emitting element module 10 is used for the E/O converter. A nonvolatile memory 14 for storing characteristic data of the light-emitting element 12 is stored in the same package 11 as that of the light-emitting element 12. The characteristic data stored in the nonvolatile memory 14 are read in by accessing the nonvolatile memory 14 during the starting-up of the E/O converter 10.
