PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite porous film being a separator used for a nonaqueous solvent battery, allowing compatibility of high heat resistance with appropriate SD characteristics and having high practicality. SOLUTION: In this composite porous film, the base material of the film is formed of a porous material capable of keeping its porous structure 140°C or higher, and having an average pore diameter of 0.2-10μm; a porous layer formed of a resin particle aggregate exist, from the surface of the base material to the inside of the porous structure; and pores of the base material are closed, by softening or melting of the resin particles constituting the porous layer.
