EXHAUST EMISSION CONTROL DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device free of production of white smokes even when the temperature of an oxidizing catalyst sinks during a forced regeneration of a particulate filter owing to the supply of HC.

SOLUTION: The exhaust emission control device is equipped with the particulate filter 32, the oxidizing catalyst 30 installed upstream of the particulate filter 32 or borne thereby, and a regeneration controlling means 42 to perform regeneration of the particulate filter 32 by supplying HC into the exhaust gas introduced to the oxidizing catalyst 30 and raising the temperature of the particulate filter 32 with the oxidative reaction heat of the HC due to the catalyst 30, wherein the regeneration controlling means 42 stops supplying the HC for regeneration if the inlet temperature of the catalyst 30 lowers to the prescribed level or below when regeneration of the filter 32 is conducted.
