PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device in an electromagnetic induction heating system and capable of effectively preventing excess temperature rise of a non-paper passing area. SOLUTION: The fixing device has a fixing member 1 which generates heat by electromagnetic induction and heats a sheet to be fed to predetermined fixing temperature. The fixing device has ferrite cores 32 provided along the fixing member 1 so as to guide magnetic fluxes generated by an excitation coil 31 to the fixing member 1. The fixing device has heating elements 33-1, 33-2 which heat a part We equivalent to a non-paper passing area equivalent to non-paper passing areas 1-1, 1-2 of the ferrite cores 32 when a sheet with small size of 5-2 among a plurality of kinds of size to be fed is fed.
