<p>A closing machine (1) for closing an opening end of a workpiece (9) by pressing a die (4) against the workpiece (9) rotating about its axis. The closing machine (1) has a chuck spindle (20) for rotatingly driving the workpiece (9), a chuck slide support mechanism (62) for supporting the workpiece (9) such that the workpiece (9) can move relative to the chuck spindle (20), in the direction of its rotation axis, a thrust stopper (6) for supporting an end section of the workpiece (9) moved by a load applied from the die (4), with the end section made to be in contact with the thrust stopper.</p> |
