PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radar system of high resolution capable of preventing an erroneous signal from being detected, in a signal expressing a distance up to a target. SOLUTION: This radar system includes a signal generator for outputting an excitation signal, an FM pulse modulator for transmission for pulse-modulating and FM-modulating the excitation signal to output an FM-pulse modulated excitation signal, a code generator for outputting a phase modulation code and a phase demodulation code, a phase modulator for transmission for phase-modulating the FM-pulse modulated excitation signal by the phase modulation code to output a phase modulated excitation signal, an antenna for transmission for emitting the phase modulated excitation signal, an antenna for reception for receiving a reflection signal reflected by the target, a phase modulator for reception for demodulating the reflection signal by the phase demodulation code to output a demodulated reception signal, a frequency converter for outputting beat frequencies of the demodulated reception signal and a local signal, and a distance computer for detecting frequencies for detecting signal frequencies after passing a filter, and for computing the distance up to the target, based on the detected frequencies.
