<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain accuracy of detection of collision object detecting means at a high level even if attachments are adhered to a portion corresponding to an installation position of the collision object detecting means on the surface of a vehicle in a pedestrian protecting device for a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: This pedestrian protecting device 20 for a vehicle is equipped with a collision object sensor 21, a fallen snow sensor 22, a lift device 5, and an ECU 26. The ECU 26 judges whether the object colliding with a front bumper 4 is a pedestrian P or not based on a peak value of collision waveform from the collision object sensor 21. When the collision object is judged as the pedestrian P, the lift device 5 is actuated, so as to lift up a rear end of a bonnet hood 3. When the ECU 26 judges as detecting snows on the bonnet hood 3, it corrects detection sensibility of the collision object sensor 21. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
