PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine tool bed designed to reduce the kinds of beds, even despite difference in the form of chip treating methods in the production line, thereby making the manufacturing and management of the bed easier than in the case of the usual method. SOLUTION: Plate attachment units 27, 27 are formed on both sides of the base stand 22 of a bed 13. One kind 28 of attachment plates is chosen from among a plurality of such plates, and attached to these plate attachment units 27, 27. One kind of cut chip collecting tray is chosen from among a plurality of trays with different shapes, and is fitted to these attachment plates 28, 28. Subsequently, cut chips are discharged immediately before or rear the machine tool or directly below the bed 13, to realize and arrange for standardizing the machine tool bed for a variety of production lines.
