PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constitute a printer well carrying a recording medium in continuous lengths on which an image is printed. SOLUTION: A drying table 26 with an inclined posture which becomes lower level toward the downstream side in the carrying direction, is arranged in the place where the recording medium M is forwarded from the printing part. A suction fan 28 sucking the recording medium M through a plurality of through-holes 26A formed on this drying table 26, is equipped, and a controlling unit for controlling this suction fan 28 is equipped. This controlling unit suppresses movement caused by its own weight of the recording medium M by sucking the recording medium M forwarded from the printing part by a negative pressure of the suction fan 28. When the back end of the recording medium M is forwarded from the printing part, the back end of the recording medium M is prevented from sliding down by increasing an sucking force of the suction fan 28.
