PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic power steering device capable of performing the corrective steering to correct any course change occurring attributable to various kinds of disturbances while a vehicle is traveling by a configuration as simple as possible without impairing the normal steering. SOLUTION: A hydraulic control valve 3 constituted in the middle of a pinion shaft 11 and an electric control valve 4 to be actuated by an electric motor 5 to be driven by the control command from a steering control unit 6 are interposed between a steering assist power cylinder 2 and a hydraulic pump P. A first selector valve 7 is interposed between these and the hydraulic pump P, and second and third selector valves 8, 9 are interposed between these and the power cylinder 2. The communication of the hydraulic control valve 3 and the electric control valve 4 with the hydraulic pump P is selectively changed by the actuation of the first selector valve 7 by the action of the hydraulic pressure on the upstream side of the hydraulic control valve 3 and the electric control valve 4, and the communication of the hydraulic control valve 3 and the electric control valve 4 with the power cylinder 2 is selectively changed by the actuation of the second and third selector valves 8, 9 by the action of the hydraulic pressure on the downstream side of the hydraulic control valve 3 and the electric control valve 4, respectively.
