PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recorder and an image recording method by which the setting change error of a correction table for correcting the driving value of a light source is eliminated to prevent time from being wasted to correct the change. SOLUTION: The image recording method is a method for forming an image by exposing a recording medium by a light source based on image data. In the state where the maximum light quantity of the light source is measured and stored, the settable range of the correction table set to correct the driving value of the light source based on the image data is calculated on the basis of the stored maximum light quantity. When the correction table is changed, whether the correction table being a change target can be set is judged on the basis of the calculated setting-enabled range, and when it is out of the settable range, a warning is given.
