<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve first print out time, reduce unnecessary idling, prolong a drum life and reduce power consumption by predicting optimum timing of a warm-up before printing from input data and starting the warm-up continuously at the optimum timing irrespective of the type of the data and a user's operation method. <P>SOLUTION: An image recording apparatus has a first conversion means for converting input data into intermediate data, a second conversion means for converting the intermediate data into image data, means for predicting a time to the printing start of the input data, and a pre-warm-up means for preparing for printing before the printing start. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
