<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character input device reducing an operator's burden for reinput by dispensing with repeated writing of the same handwritten character by the operator. <P>SOLUTION: The characteristic quantity of each stroke showing a coordinate value of handwritten character from a coordinate input device 210 in segment units is stored in stroke group units (S3 and S6), the thus-stored characteristic quantities of each stroke group are compared with those of a group of strokes related to a newly input coordinate value (S4), the group of strokes related to the newly input coordinate value is replaced by a stroke group the characteristic quantities of which are at least partially matched thereto (S7), and the coordinate points of the respective strokes are connected through segments and displayed on a display device 220 (S5). According to this, since a stroke group drawn in the past by the operator can be called and reused, repeated writing of the same handwritten character by the operator is dispensed with, and the operator's burden for reinput is reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
