发明名称 Improvements relating to fuel cells
摘要 1,012,362. Fuel cells. CHLORIDE ELECTRICAL STORAGE CO. Ltd. April 4, 1963 [April 16, 1962], No. 14590/62. Heading H1B. A fuel cell electrode comprises a hollow moulded carbon body including two opposed flat porous walls 3, 4, and an inlet for the supply of fuel or oxidant. The carbon body is surrounded by metal gauze 1, e.g. of silver or nickel embedded in the surface of the body, and two metal mounting posts 11 are soldered to lugs projecting from the gauze, the electrode being sealed with a resin layer 12. One post 11 is hollow to provide the inlet, which may lead to a thin perforated pipe winding back and forth across the inner cavity to uniformly distribute the fuel or oxidant within the electrode, Fig. 5 (Fig. 3, not. shown). The electrodes are suspended from the lid of the fuel cell by the posts 11 which also provide electrical connections. Alternatively, the gauze and metal posts 22, 23 are secured by bolting together between clamping plates. The carbon walls 3, 4 are made from moulding powders as described in Specifications 931,732 and 1,007,490.
