PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector having a structure which dissociates a short-circuiting terminal certainly from a pair of contacts when both the connectors are engaged in the connector having a CPA. SOLUTION: A wedge piece 15 which projects in a housing 1 side is formed in an insertion room 11. In the state that one set of connectors 10 and 20 are engaged, a pair of elastic pieces 6c and 6d are extended widely to each other by the wedge piece 15, the holding state with a housing 2 is released, and becomes movable to the housing 1 side. A flange 6e is brought into contact with the housing 2, a regular engagement is detected, and release pieces 6a and 6b are interposed between the pair of male contacts 3 and 3 and the short-circuiting terminal 4.
