A method for reducing thickness of a flat plate is provided to reduce the construction cost by reducing stress the rest portion of the flat plate except around a column and thereby possibly manufacturing with a thin board, and to naturally design a uniformly thick floor. A method for reducing thickness of a flat plate(1) given strong stress from around a column(2) comprises steps for arranging X-main bars(5) and Y-main bars(6) as a reinforcing base in an X-direction and a Y-direction of the base lower end; placing X-iron bar trusses(7) on the Y-main bar and arranging X-reinforcing bars(9) between the Y-main bar and the X-iron bar truss; placing Y-iron bar trusses(8) at some intervals as long as the Y-iron bar trusses are not bent even in placing the X-reinforcing bars over; arranging Y-reinforcing bars(10) between the Y-iron bar trusses; and repeating the arrangements to the upper end of the flat plate to increase shearing or bending resistance.
